What Does Reposted Mean On TikTok? How To Repost?

TikTok is constantly introducing new features to keep the app exciting for users as it remains the most widely used social media platform in 2021.

Have you heard of “Reposted” and what does Reposted mean on TikTok?

You won’t see the video on your own For You Page after clicking “Repost,” but it will show up on the For Your Pages of those who follow you.

The new Repost feature on TikTok is covered in detail here.

What Does The “Repost” Button On TikTok Mean?

Users of TikTok have noticed a brand-new “Repost” option that shows up when you attempt to share a TikTok video from your For You Page.

The button essentially enables users to share a video with the users who are following them. The video, however, only appears for your followers and doesn’t appear on your profile.

However, there has never been a way to share a video with your entire following on TikTok. Users can share videos with other users individually and more recently in group chats.

You had to download and re-upload a TikTok video in order to share it, but doing so had copyright problems and failed to give proper credit to the creator.

The “Repost” button appears to be similar to Twitter’s “Retweet” feature, which enables users to share other people’s content while still giving them credit for it.

What Does The Repost Button Actually Do?

Think of the Twitter “retweet” button as a simple way to share something from your For Your Page with all of your followers on TikTok without having to repost a video. When you click “repost,” the video you selected will show up on the For Your Pages of those who follow you, but not on your own.

Similar to Twitter’s retweet function, you can also add your own caption to go with your reposted video on other people’s feeds.

Only videos that have already appeared on a user’s FYP can currently be reposted; other videos cannot. This means you won’t be able to repost a video if you visit someone’s profile and click on one there or receive one from a friend.

How To Use Reposted Button On TikTok?

All you need to do to “Repost” a video is to find the one you want to share and tap the arrow in the bottom right corner.

You should see a round, orange button with two white arrows at the top underneath the “Send to” tab. The video will be shared with your followers once you click this.

The “Repost” button may not be available to you because it is still in development and has not yet been made available to all users.

Currently, it doesn’t seem to have been fully developed, and the rollout is just a test to see how well received it would be.

Accounts from all over the world are being chosen at random to test the “Repost” button, which is currently unavailable.

How To Un-repost A TikTok?

If you change your mind about the video you reposted or you accidentally reposted something, which is extremely easy to do, it’s also very simple to un-repost a video:

1. Find the same video you reposted on your FYP

2. Again, click on the arrow icon in the bottom right-hand corner of your selected video

3. The button for reposting now reads remove repost, as you should have noticed.

Just that easy, really!

Conclusion

Reposting on TikTok is a concept that is similar to some features on other social media. For instance, since 2009, Twitter users have had the option to “retweet” the content of other users, which is a common way to interact with the app.

People will be able to share videos and other content with all of their followers on TikTok using the repost feature without the shared video showing up on their profile.

You can avoid the tiresome process of duetting and ripping someone else’s video thanks to this hassle-free feature.
