What is Snapchat Plus?

What Features Are on Snapchat Plus?

According to Andreou, “single-playerish” features (those only involving the user, not affecting anyone else) will probably stay exclusive to Plus members are welcome, but user-interaction-related features will eventually be made available to all users.

1. Ghost Trails on the Map

You can use Ghost Trails to see where your friends who share your location have been over the previous 24 hours. Only friends who have access to Snapchat+ in their nation and who have shared their location with you can see Ghost Trails for friends on the Snap Map. Location sharing on the Snap Map is optional for all Snapchatters.

Toggle Ghost Mode on, then off, in your Snap Map Settings if you want to remove your ghost trail. Your Ghost Trail will only be visible to the people you share it with, and you can temporarily share your live location with friends.

However, Ghost Trails might put some people off from signing up for Snapchat Plus. As TechRadar has warned, while the While Snap Map has advantages, such as allowing you to view Stories from destinations you’re about to visit on vacation, Ghost Trails goes a step further. It places a yellow line next to your friends, indicating their recent movements. You are effectively tracking the whereabouts of your companions or friends. Sure, they can change their settings to turn themselves invisible, but by doing so, they effectively negate the value of having Ghost Trails, and you might have awkward conversations about why they have vanished from view.

2. Best Friends Forever (Pin as #1 Best Friend)

With Best Friends Forever, you can designate your BFF as your #1 Best Friend. Only one #1 Best Friend can be pinned at once, as the name implies.

Press and hold your friend’s icon in Chat or the Send To screen, then choose to “Pin as your #1 Best Friend” from the pop-up menu.’ And don’t worry about upsetting your other friends because only you can see this pin.

4. Custom App Icons/Themes

Even though this isn’t the most interesting feature, it at least makes you feel special. A typical Snapchatter’s device screen displays the same app icon as everyone else’s: a white ghost on a yellow background. On the other hand, Snapchat Plus subscribers have access to almost 40 icon options.

To do this, open your Profile, tap the Snapchat+ membership card at the top, select “App Icon,” and then select any app icon from the list.

5. Snapchat+ Badge

Another cosmetic feature, albeit one that other people can see, is that as a Snapchat+ subscriber, you can add some flair to your display name with a black star badge ✪

Your Snapchat+ subscription is made known to your friends through this. By going to your Profile, tapping your Snapchat+ membership card at the top, and then turning on “Snapchat+ Badge,” you can enable the badge, which is by default off, so that it will show up next to your display name.’

6. Friend Solar System

On someone’s Friendship Profile, Snapchat+ subscribers can see a badge that says “Best Friends” or “Friends” with a gold ring around it. Despite the usual meaning of the word “best,” on “Friends” on Snapchat Plus means you are one of their eight closest friends, but they are not one of yours. “Best Friends” means you are each other’s eight closest friends. You and your friend must both have linked Bitmojis in order to view Friend Solar Systems.

If you tap the badge, a panel will appear identifying which planet in your friend’s solar system you are, with each planet denoting a different place on their list of Best Friends. They would therefore rank you as their third closest friend if their closest friend was the Sun and you were Earth in their solar system.

7. Snapchat for Web

There’s no doubt that everyone will eventually be able to use this feature. Still, for the moment, Snapchat for Web is limited to American, British, Canadian, as well as Australian and New Zealand Snapchat users who are Snapchat+ subscribers.
